A Nation Or A Business

The principle purpose of a business, is to maximise profit for its owners, this group I believe can be extended to serve the interests of a larger group of stakeholders, (including employees even society as a whole) for the effective running of the enterprise.
Does this sound familiar? What else was formed as a business enterprise? Nigeria.
Sir George Dashwood Taubman Goldie came to the area around the Niger to start a business venture with the Niger Company (later the Royal Niger Company)....and the business grew and amalgamated other companies in the area to form UAC . This super company supplied the world with goods from their successfully run industries (Cotton, Palm oil etc).
Sometimes, harsh decisions were made like removing popular heads of departments (tribal leaders).... Like Oba Ovonramwen and the JaJa of Opobo. Even the head of the company, Sir George Goldie was not spared!

As we know a man called Lugard amalgamated the two major branches of the same business for effective administration....after all, it made financial sense.

Maybe we need to run Nigeria like a business, after all that's why it was formed its obvious in modern day Nigeria the focus has left the enterprise and been broken down by embezzling board of directors.
