ICPC On Standby To Prosecute Lawan


The ICPC have confirmed they are on standby to take over the case  involving Hon. Farouk Lawan on allegations he received bribes of  $620,000.

Sources have said once necessary protocols are dealt with, the ICPC want to arraign the suspended Chairman, House of Representatives Ad hoc Committee on the Monitoring of Fuel Subsidy for taking  money from Femi Otedola, the chairman of Zenon Oil and Gas, to facilitate the removal of his company's name from the list of oil marketers which bought foreign exchange from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) without importing petroleum products.


However, the whereabouts of the $620,000 still remains a puzzle, as Lawan, contrary to his earlier promise has failed to produce the money to the police, because he is now claiming to have given it to  Hon Jagaba Adams Jagaba (the Chairman, House Committee on Drugs Narcotics and Financial Crimes). Needless to say Jagaba, has also claimed he was never given the money and knows nothing of its whereabouts.
