Egypt v Nigeria football match called off due to sponsorship issues
The touted International friendly, match between Egypt and Nigeria has been called off. Nigeria’s Super Eagles were billed to play ‘the Pharoahs’ in Abu Dabi on April 12,2012,but it appears the game will not see the light of the day as Egypt has pulled out of the tie owing to a sponsorship glitch which led to the closure of their camp..
Coach Diaa Al Sayed who spoke to SuperSport.com, said they had received a letter from the UAE Football federation advising them on the latest development, and are now in search of another sponsor.
Diaa said that” Since we don’t know if the new camp will be in the UAE or not , we certainly can not etch any games especially that against the Super Eagles in stone and have to cancel.”
Egypt would try and reschedule the game,so as to honour the contractual agreement they reached with the Nigeria Football Federation. last month the Egypt FA wrote the NFF indicating their interest to play against a one hundred percent home based Super eagles players in Abu Dhabi UAE.
