I have known Nuhu Kwajafa for a few years now and all I can say is that I'm constantly blown away by his selflessness and compassion for others.
After successfully embarking in the world of entrepreneurship, forming Kwajafa Security and Investigation Services, this 37 year old native of Biu Local Government Area of Borno State, heeded his call to the world of charity and service to the poor.
It is not often you find people like Nuhu who give their time and money in hopes of creating a better, safer, healthier world for all especially in a country like Nigeria
His most notable work to date has to be his work with the GIPLC (Global Initiative for Peace, Love & Care). This organisation has raised over N80m, helped 0ver 2000 orphans with scholarships, dewormed over 23,000 orphans and vulnerable children in Benue, Anambra and Nassarawa State
provided 13 libraries to orphanages, campaigned for life saving treatments, and delivered provisions to orphanages.
"Life has been interesting since I started GIPLC because I look at it like a cash register, in that every account, every thought, every deed, like every sale is registered and recorded. The best use of life is to spend it for something that will outlive life itself". says Nuhu "I believe at my age I have lived half my life for myself. Right now am dedicating the remaining half for humanity. "
THE GLOBAL INITIATIVE FOR PEACE, LOVE AND CARE (GIPLC) is a non- governmental, non- faith based, not-for-Profit, Charity Organisation, founded in 2006 to cater for Orphans and Vulnerable Children in Nigeria (0-9 years), with current projects in the Federal Capital Territory, Nassarawa and Benue States respectively, providing food, medical assistance, learning materials and sundry items to identified orphanages.
Orphaned and Vulnerable Children (OVC) are children who have lost one or both parents to death. These Children are often neglected and without the basic rights of life such as: Food, clothes, shelter, health care, education and most importantly, love. GIPLC has for the last three years embarked on various projects in partnership with the media, private organisations and Individuals to create awareness and provide care & support for OVC.
In line with our mission, the organisation seeks to stimulate sustainable, participatory, community based projects, which will cater for the OVC and other identified persons in especially difficult circumstances.
As an organisation that thrives on collective actions, we also seek to build networks and join coalitions to pursue activities that will enhance achieving some of the MDGs (millennium development goals), since government and allied agencies alone lack the manpower and resolve to meet them, adequately. With intervention in nutrition, education and health (and of course psychosocial development), our support is delivered via projects’; Food for 1 Million (FF1M), Save a child & Child Education Support.
Every last Saturday of the month, the GIPLC mobilise people and donations in the form of rice, Indomie, Pampers, Nan, Sma Gold, Peak milk 123, Cerelac, soap, Omo, Dettol, cloths etc to distribute to the orphanages.
